Turkish Dessert Kunefe

Künefe is a Turkish dessert that’s part of the larger Middle Eastern knafeh family. It’s a sweet cheese pastry made with thin, noodle-like semolina dough (or kataifi), soaked in a sugar-based syrup, and often layered with cheese. The cheese is typically a fresh, mozzarella-like cheese from Hatay province, but other mild cheeses can also be used.
